In this study, the carburizing heat treatment processes fot the SCr420HB helical gear have been analyzed through experiments and simulations. And the results have been compared to justify the simulation methods further to apply many other heat treatment process.
In order to decide the optimal carburizing heat treatment process, the optimal carburizing and diffusing time have been searched through simulations and further applied to all the experiments and simulations to obtain the best heat treatment process.
The result shows that gas carburizing yield better mechanical properties compared with the vacuum carburizing.
The effects of the salt quenching after the gas carburization have been proved to be the most effective in every aspect of the mechanical properties
