The purpose of this study is to review student's satisfaction with the University service and the influence of the University service on students' attitude to the University.
A questionnaire developed for this study was used to survey the students of a University in Changwon, Gyungsangnamdo.
The findings of the study are summarized as follows:
First, with regard to the perception of the students toward the University, more than half of the students are satisfied with their choice of the University. However, they are not satisfied with the quality of the lecture. In addition, they are not satisfied with the administrative service by the staff members. The university facilities and the physical environment service also fail to satisfy the students. Overall, the students are not satisfied with the services of the University.
Second, in the analysis of personal characteristics and the difference of the attitude to the University, there is no differences in terms of identification and the word-of-mouth intention between genders. However, the students from different years shows some difference in identification but no difference in the word-of-mouth intention. Based on the schools to which the students belong, no difference is found in identification, but some difference is found in the word-of-mouth intention. Students show no difference in both of identification and the word-of-mouth intention based on their parents living places.
Third, in the relationship of the University service and the attitude, the lectures of the professors and the services related to the lectures have the greatest influence on the students' satisfaction whereas the administrative service has the least influence. Identification is most affected by the lectures of the professors and the services related to the lectures, and the administrative service. The word-of-mouth intention is affected by the University service and the students' satisfaction.
Finally, in the perception of the University service based on personal characteristics, there are significant differences based on the gender, and the grade year, and the school to which they belong. The male students, the junior students, and the students from the school of Humanities, and the students from the school of Arts are the most satisfied.
