The purpose of the study is to find out the situation of youth voluntary activities, and to analyze the effects of the level of participation, the preparation, and the experience of evaluation and education about social welfare on their self-efficacy and psychological well-being.
The participants of the research are 407 male and female and high and middle school students in cheong-ju and only 331 cases experiencing the voluntary activities were analyzed.
Frequency analysis and descriptive statistics analysis were used for the common situation of full of respondents, and correlation analysis and regression analysis were used to find out the effects of youth voluntary activities on adolescents' self-efficacy and psychological well-being.
The results of this research can be summarized as follows.
First, the influence of serving time in youth voluntary activities on self-efficacy was verified.
Second, the influence of recognition of the need for voluntary activities and serving attitude in youth voluntary activities on psychological well-being were verified.
Third, it was found out that a partially significant correlation between the preparation for voluntary activities, reflection, experience of education for social welfare and self-efficacy and psychological well-being, but their influence was not found to be statistically significant.
In summary, this research verified the influence of the level of participation(voluntary activity time, the recognition of the need for voluntary activities, serving attitude) on adolescents' self-efficacy and psychological well-being unlike precedent studies that preparation and reflection system are important factors in youth voluntary activities.
The results of this study suggest the alternatives as below:
First, we should give adolescents the opportunities for doing voluntary activities, for example enough time and various fields.
Second, we should provide adolescents with much information about youth voluntary activities.
Third, we should develop the youth voluntary activities related various programs.
Fourth, we should develop the youth voluntary acitivity system giving various experiences and self- evaluation.
Finally, we should build the legal system that school-social workers be placed for efficiently managing youth voluntary activities.
