The ceramic culture has developed in a close relation with the routine of human kind reflecting the environments of each era and creating various styles at various periods. In particular, the angled ceramic in late Joseon demonstrated generally stable, simple and plain beauty with formativeness and fanciness as well as functionality, which is more than enough to express in a modern sense with formative factors. With a motif of the angled ceramic, it attempted to direct simplicity of a ceramic in late Joseon, and to divide or reconstruct sides to create new structural beauty of the modern structure.
The fabrication mainly using plate forming aimed to maximize the change of grotesque object and space of the surface like a modern architecture with various structural types that are not available in jiggering. And, it was expanded about doubly to change formativeness of the angled ceramic into architectural image.
This study is on the fabrication of an object of ceramics by introducing a modern aesthetic concept structurally and geometrically on the basis of the rectangular parallelepiped white porcelain to change the surface freely.
By the geometric disposition of plate forming that joins side by side, it enhanced the possibility of new forming and illuminated the beauty of the angled ceramic with functionality and formativeness. This study is expected to encourage further development and study of the characteristics of fabrication technology.
